The Mechanical Construction Kit is designed for learning and building mechatronic systems,
offering an engaging hands-on experience for enthusiasts and beginners alike. This kit
allows you to create a Bluetooth-controlled Pick and Place Robot that can be operated
through a smartphone. It’s perfect for those interested in robotics, automation, and
mechanical construction.
At the heart of the kit is an Arduino Uno compatible rev 3 board, which controls all the
components, and an HC-05 Bluetooth module for wireless communication, allowing the robot to
be controlled from a mobile device. This makes it convenient and interactive, offering a
unique opportunity to learn about wireless communication and robotics.
The robot is driven by four DC geared motors that provide motion, which are controlled
through two L293D motor drivers. The motors drive the wheels and caterpillar track modular
belt, enabling the robot to move across various surfaces. The robot chassis provides a
stable frame, while the grabber unit adds functionality for pick-and-place tasks, equipped
with a gripper that offers one degree of freedom (DOF) for gripping and moving objects. The
system also includes an LCD 16x2 display for real-time feedback and an on-board buzzer
module to alert you of various operational statuses. The 12V DC adapter powers the entire
setup, ensuring consistent operation for extended periods.
